Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Adrian Gonzalez drove in three with his major league-leading 20th home run of the season, and Chad Gaudin pitched into the seventh inning, as San Diego defeated the Rockies, 5-2, in the finale of a three-game set at Coors Field. Mario Manningham Authentic Jersey . Gonzalez finished 2-for-4 with a walk and Scott Hairston added a solo shot for the Padres, who had dropped three of four following their season-high 10-game win streak. Gaudin (2-3) gave up two runs -- one earned -- on seven hits with a season- high nine strikeouts and no walks over 6 1/3 innings. Edward Mujica tossed a scoreless eighth and Heath Bell, coming off his first blown save of the year in Saturdays setback, closed the door in the ninth to notch his MLB-best 15th save. Yorvit Torrealba had two hits and knocked in a run for Colorado, which had won its first two games under Jim Tracy, who replaced the dismissed Clint Hurdle as manager on Friday. Jorge De La Rosa (0-6) started for the Rockies and remains in search of his first win since September 25 of last season. The left-hander allowed four runs on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work. "Playing at home, it would have been nice to get a sweep, but this is the big leagues, and no opponent is going to roll over," said Colorado second baseman Clint Barmes. "But it is good to take the series, (the Padres) have been playing well, and hopefully, we can win more than we lose on the road." Gaudin got off to a terrific start, striking out three batters in each of the first two innings. Gonzalez staked the visitors to a 3-0 lead in the third. Tony Gwynn stroked a soft liner to left that fell in for a base hit with one out and David Eckstein doubled down the right-field line. After Hairston popped out meekly to Barmes, De La Rosa had Gonzalez buried in the count 0-2, but left a high fastball over the plate that landed in the left-field seats. "He throws hard, so I just wanted to put a good swing on it," Gonzalez said of his homer. "I was able to stay behind it and it went for a home run." De La Rosa retired the first two batters in the fifth before walking Hairston and opting to pitch around the hot-hitting Gonzalez. Kevin Kouzmanoff doubled to deep left to drive in a run, but Gonzalez was cut down at the plate to end the inning. Colorado had something brewing in the home half of the fifth, but the threat was foiled. Troy Tulowitzki and Torrealba hit back-to-back singles with one away in the frame. However, pinch-hitter Seth Smith was caught looking at strike three as the runners were on the move and catcher Henry Blanco gunned down Tulowitzki at third. Hairston homered to start the seventh against Jason Grilli, but the home team got on the board and closed the gap to 5-2 in the bottom half of the inning. Garrett Atkins and Brad Hawpe both singled to open the frame, and a fly out by Ian Stewart put runners on the corners for Tulowitzki, whose towering fly ball to center was inexplicably dropped by Hairston. Atkins came around to score on the play and Tulowitzki was credited with a sacrifice fly. Torrealba followed with an RBI single to right, which signaled the end for Gaudin. Greg Burke was summoned from the bullpen and set down the next two batters to preserve the three-run lead. Game Notes: Gwynn, Kouzmanoff, Hairston and Josh Wilson each collected two hits in the win for San Diego...Six of Gaudins seven starts this season have come on the road...Mujica has not allowed a run in his last 12 appearances (14.0 innings)...Colorado has still won five of eight against the Padres this season. GENEVA– Twenty million jobs will disappear by the end of next year as a result of the impact of the financial crisis on the global economy, a United Nations agency said on Monday. Construction, real estate, financial services, and the auto sector are most likely to be hit, according to the International Labour Organisations (ILO) estimate, which is based on International Monetary Fund projections for the world economy. The toll on jobs could be even higher if IMF economic projections are cut, said ILO Director-General Juan Somavia. We have to talk about the financial crisis in terms of what happens to people and what happens to jobs and enterprises, he told reporters. Somavia said the ILO, which brings together governments, employers and workers, wanted to steer discussions about the resolving the crisis toward job creation and other steps to promote the real economy. It would be tragic to respond to a sub-prime crisis with sub-prime policies, he said. The ILO does not yet have a regional breakdown of projected job losses, which Somavia said would take global unemployment to 210 million in late 2009 from 190 million last year, the first time it has topped 200 million. But countries with large domestic markets that do not depend heavily on exports would be able to weather the crisis better, he said, citing as an example Chhina, where exports make up only 11 percent of the economy. Kenny Phillips Authentic Jersey. It was alarming that global unemployment had stayed at the same levels despite the strong economic growth seen between 2002 and 2007, said Somavia, who files to New York this week for talks with the heads of all UN agencies, chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. He said resources should be pumped into the economy to stave off or mitigate recession, concentrating on employment-intensive sectors including small enterprises. The financial sector should also be steered back to its fundamental function of lending to entrepreneurs, according to the Chilean lawyer and diplomat. Somavia said the financial sectors share in the profits of US companies had risen to 41 percent last year from 5 percent in 1980. As a result, banks preferred to invest in financial transactions rather than lending to other productive sectors. So this system began to siphon off resources from the real economy process, he said. And listed non-financial companies came under pressure to match the returns of the financial sector, forcing them to cut costs -- often by freezing salaries or laying off staff -- rather than making long-term investments. From one point of this view this is called productivity increases. From a more profound point of view it means a worker becomes a commodity, he said. ' ' '
